Braves 7, Giants 5 (52-37)
For the second straight game, a Brave hitter belted two homeruns in a game and for the fifth straight game, the Braves took care of a team from New York. Wes Covington homered twice and drove in three runs to lead the Braves and Del Crandall went yard with a solo shot. Covington’s final homerun, a two run shot in the ninth inning, broke a 5-5 tie.
Bob Trowbridge gave up four unearned runs in a no decision. Ernie Johnson got the final four Giants out and he improved to 5-1 on the season.
