Braves 7, Cubs 2 (83-52)
The Braves ended their three game losing streak as they got a three run blast in the third inning from Wes Covington which they never looked back from. The homerun was the beginning of a five run inning. The Andy Pafko added two runs in the seventh inning on his fifth homerun of the season but the insurance proved to be unneccesary.
Warren Spahn won his nineteenth game with a nice start. He gave up two runs on five hits and one walk with six strikeouts. Both runs against him came on solo homers.
