In the First inning, the Braves got off to a good start with four of the first five hitters reaching base safely including an RBI single from Chipper Jones, the leader of the majors with a batting average over .400. After Jones, Jeff Francoeur followed with a two-run single. Starter Jo-Jo Reyes struggled in the Fourth and Fifth surrendering the lead to the Phillies to make the score 4-3. In the Seventh, when Reyes gave up another run, Jorge Campillo came in to relieve him. The Braves rallied for one run in the Ninth with an RBI double from Brian McCann, but in the end the Braves dropped another one-run loss and had another road loss. The Phillies out-hit the Braves 13-9 and the Braves left four runners in scoring position with two out. Tonight the Braves take on the Phillies for the second game of the series with veteran Tom Glavine on the mound still searching for his first win of the season. Glavine will duel Brett Myers of Philadelphia.
