In the first game of a three-game series, the Braves lost to the Mariner 10-2 after taking the lead 1-0 in the Fourth. Starter Jorge Camillo pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up four earned runs on eight hits. At the end of the Sixth the score was tied at one, but then the Mariners rallied for three in the Seventh, five in the Eighth and tacked one more on in the Ninth while the Braves managed just one more in the Eighth. Chipper Jones went o for 2 with a walk and is now batting .390 before leaving the game in the Eighth with a strained quad. The Braves pitching staff gave up fifteen hits on the night as the Braves had a season-rare loss at home. After firing their general manager, the Mariners interim manager Jim Riggleman was able to record his first win since 1999. Tonight in the second game of the series, Jair Jurrjens will take on Jarrod Washburn.
