Lew Burdette improved to 12-7 on the season with a nice outing as the Braves continued their impressive month of August. He gave up just one run on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts in the complete game win.
Hank Aaron hit homerun number 35, a three run shot in the first inning. Red Schoendienst went three for five with a solo homer while both Eddie Mathews and Bob Hazle had three hits a piece.
