September 14, 1957 at County Stadium
Dodgers 7, Braves 1 (85-56)
It’s a good thing the Braves built up a nice lead because at September was close to hitting the half way point, the Braves had lost seven of their last ten games and an 8 1/2 game lead then was now just four games. Once again, the Braves failed to get much offense from their hitters as they picked up just a run on four hits. The lone Braves run came in the second inning when Andy Pafko scored when Johnny Logan grounded into a double play.
Lew Burdette was hit hard and early and the Dodgers had a 4-0 lead in the top of the season. He fell to 15-9 and he gave up six runs (four earned) on seven hits and two walks in 4 1/3 innings.
