Lew Burdette Has Rough Start As Braves Continue Skid

Phillies 6, Braves 1  (34-26)

The Braves lost for the fifth time in six games as Lew Burdette was roughed up in the Braves series opener aginst the Phillies.  Burdette gave up five runs on ten hits and three walks with two strikeouts in five innings.  The loss dropped his record to 5-4 on the season.

Andy Pafko went three for four and he drove in the lone run for the Braves.  Bill Bruton went two for four with a run.
