In just five innings, starter Tim Hudson managed to surrender two home runs on five hits and five walks while only striking out three to setup the 5-4 win for the Oakland A’s over Atlanta. Hudson gave up all five runs in just the first three innings of play causing his ERA to slide to 3.06 and his record to drop to 6-3. Atlanta matched Oakland for hits at seven a piece, but Atlanta was only able to add three runs in the Ninth to the one run scored in the Fifth falling just short of Oakland. The loss snapped an eight-game winning streak at home for Atlanta. Chipper Jones went 0-4 resulting in his 4.18 batting average falling to .412. Atlanta took on Oakland again today at Turner Field with Jo-Jo Reyes on the mound intending on returning to their successes at Turner Field.
