Hank Aaron led a ten run, thirteen hit attack as the Braves took their series opener against the Phillies. He went three for five with his seventeenth homerun and four RBIs. Johnny Logan went three for five with two runs and two RBIs.
Lost in all of the offense was a really nice start by Warren Spahn. He improved to 7-3 and he gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and five walks with four strikeouts in the complete game win.
