The Braves scored eight runs today and they needed every one of them in their 8-7 win over the Cardinals. Eddie Mathews and Hank Aaron both hit three run shots and the other runs were on solo shots by Joe Adcock and Del Crandall.
Ray Crone was roughed up in his start. He gave up four runs on five hits and two walks in only three innings of work. Taylor Phillips picked him up though with six innings of solid relief. He gave up three runs on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts to pick up the win.
