In yesterday’s game against the Pirates, the Braves had a great start in the First inning when Mark Teixeira hit a two-run home run. The long shot was not enough as the Pirates held the Braves to just these two runs for the rest of the game and in the end the Braves lost 5-2. Chipper Jones was unable to improve his .400 batting average as he has just one hit in his last 11 at-bats. Braves starter Chuck James lasted six innings and gave up five runs on five hits. James struck out seven and walked four. Pirates outfielder Jason Bay hit a two-run shot in the Fourth and the Pirates combined for a total of six hits on the day. In the end, James went 2-2 for the year and the Braves lost another road game. With each road loss, the team’s frustration builds and the battle to turn things around gets tougher.
