Dodgers 5, Braves 1 (85-55)
The Braves were held in check once again at the plate as they managed just a single run on five hits. It was the third straight game the Braves had scored two runs or less and the lone run was driven in by Johnny Logan with his triple in the second inning. Red Schoendienst and Covington were the only Braves with two hits in the game.
Gene Conley was roughed up and he fell to 8-9 on the season. He gave up five runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks with one strikeout in 6 1/3 innings. Phil Paine held the Dodgers scoreless in the final two frames but the hitters couldn’t get their bats going to pull out a comeback.
