Braves 13, Dodgers 9 (37-29)
Eddie Mathews had a huge day at the plate as the Braves ended their two game skid with a dramatic comeback that saw the Braves scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Mathews went three for five with two homeruns, five RBIs and three runs. The two homers brought his season total up to 14 on the season. Hank Aaron went two four with a solo homerun and three runs. The homer was his 20th of the season.
Gene Conley picked up his first win of the season although he was hardly spectacular. He gave up three runs on three hits and two walks with four strikeouts in four innings of relief. Dave Jolly threw a shutout ninth and he picked up his first save of the season.
