The Pirates scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning off of reliever Dave Jolly to complete a 5-3 comeback over the Braves. Jolly fell to 0-1 on the season.
Red Schoendiest went four for five with two doubles in the loss. Three other Braves had three hits a piece with Joe Adcock going three for four with two runs.
