Braves Organizational Review

by @ 7:38 pm. Filed under Baseball Glove

These organization reviews are great to read if you see your team and “deep system stocked with pitching and several strong position players” in the same column.  The best place to start is the top as Frederick Freeman and Tommy Hanson were your hitting and pitching organizational players of the year.  Freeman hit .316 and belted 18 homeruns and he’s still a teenager.  The bummer here is he cracked some ribs so his time in the Instructional League is going to be cut short.  Tommy Hanson was a nice pickup in the 22nd round of the 2005 draft and he finished with a 2.41 ERA with his last stop at Double A.

Preseason pick Gorkys Hernandez had a tough time this year but we got him for an over the hill Edgar Renteria.  And we got a brief look at the Braves first round pick.  Brett DeVall pitched just 9 2/3 innings in the GCL so we won’t get to really see what he can do until next season.

Even though baseball is winding down on the TV, I still like to take the kids and some of his friends from little league out for some time on the diamond.  Plus I want to try out the new baseball glove I picked up from Baseball Rampage.  If you’ve never checked them out, you should stop by and check out the wide selection of baseball equipment.
