It had to end and the Braves lost for just the second time in the month of August as their ten game winning streak came to an end.  Gene Conley was roughed up and he fell to 8-6 on the season.  He gave up three runs on three hits and three walks in just 1 2/3 innings.  Rookie Juan Pizarro was also tagged for three runs in his 5 1/3 innings of relief.

Red Schoendienst went four for five with an RBI.  Joe Torre went two for four and he drove in a run.
