The Braves returned to victory today at Turner Field with a 5-2 win against the A’s. The Braves have won the last 9 of 10 home games and have the second-best Major League record at 16-5 when playing at home. The Braves bullpen clinched the victory continuing their streak of scoreless innings to 16. In the First Inning, Brian McCann hit a double to knock in Yunel Escobar to tie the game at one. Then in the Second inning, Escobar hit a two-run single to put the Braves ahead. Oakland came back with a run in the Sixth, but it wouldn’t be enough as Atlanta went on to add two more runs in the Eighth. Pinch hitter Omar Infante hit a two-run triple in the Eighth and the Braves went on to win 5-2. Chipper Jones went 1 for 3 and now has a .410 batting average continuing to lead the Majors. The Braves have tomorrow off before a three-game series against the New York Mets before a four-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks all at Turner Field.
