The Braves extended their lead to five games with another impressive win. It was their seventh straight win and their twelth win in thirteen games. Gene Conley improved to 8-5 on the season with a nice start. He gave up one run on seven hits and four walks with two strikeouts in the complete game win.
Eddie Mathews went two for three with a walk. One of the two hits was his 22nd homerun and he both scored two runs and drove in two. Johnny Logan doubled and drove in two runs.
