Braves 5, Reds 3 (65-42)
The Braves swept the Reds, won their fourth straight and it was also their ninth win in ten games. This time it was Lew Burdette who threw a nice game. He gave up three runs on ten hits and one walk with one strikeout in eight innings of work and the win pushed his record to 10-7 on the season. Don McMahon threw a shutout ninth and he saved his fifth game of the season.
Red Schoendienst singled, drew a walk and drove three runs to lead the Brewers at the plate. Dal Crandall had just one hit but it was a solo homerun in the fourth inning.
