In 4 2/3 innings, Jair Jurrjens allowed three earned runs on eights hits while only striking out four earning a no decision on the day, but on the other side of the ball, the Braves’ bats were going and they hit their way to a 7-3 win splitting the series against the Diamondbacks. Mark Teixeira led the way at the plate as the Braves were able to get seven runs out of ten hits off Arizona starter Brandon Webb. Webb is the National League leader for wins and the ace pitcher for the Diamondbacks this season, but he met his match at the plate today when Teixeira had a two-run double in the First and a two-run single in the Second. Catcher Brian McCann hit a solo shot in the Fifth inning to notch his ninth homer for the season. Chipper Jones went one for three with two walks and now is batting .416. The Braves now have the second-best record at home with 22-7, but have the worst record for away games with 6-16. Now the Braves must try to improve that away record on the road starting tomorrow against the Brewers.
