Braves 3, Phillies 2 (33-21)
The Braves won their fourth straight game in the first game of a Sunday doubleheader with the Phillies. Juan Pizzaro improved to 3-5 with a solid start. He gave up two runs on just five hits and five walks with four strikeouts in the complete game win.
Eddie Mathews led the way at the plate. He went three for four with a double, an RBI and two runs. Red Schoendienst went two for five with a triple and a run.

Phillies 1, Braves 0 (33-22)
The Braves four game winning streak came to an end as Lew Burdette’s fantastic start went to waste. He gave up just one run on a single hit with four walks and a strikeout in the complete game loss. The hard luck start dropped him to 5-3 on the season.
Bill Bruton was the only hitter with more then one hit. He went two for three.
