The Braves won their ninth straight game as they blew out the Reds for the second straight time. This time it was thirteen runs that they put on the board. Wes Covington went two for five with a homerun and five RBIs. Johnny Logan homered, drove in two and scored twice while Bob Hazle went three for four with a walk with a walk, two runs and an RBI.
Bob Buhl improved to 16-6 on the season. He gave up three runs on seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts in seven innings. Don McMahon threw two innings of shutout relief and he picked up his sixth save of the season.
