Braves Pitching Gives Up Nine Runs In First Two Innings In Loss to Dodgers

Dodgers 11, Braves 9  (29-21)

Nine runs usually gets it done and while that’s what the Braves hitters put on the board, it wasn’t enough as Gene Conley and Lew Burdette were pummelled for nine runs in the first two innings.  Conley took the loss and he fell to 0-4.  Burdette gave up six of the nine runs but only three of them were earned.

Eddie Mathews had a huge game in the loss.  He went four for five with a two run homer.  Hank Aaron had just one hit but it was his sixteenth homer of the season.
