The Giants took it to the Braves as they finished up with a split of their two game series. A pair of errors resulted in five unearned runs as Gene Conley took the loss. He gave up nine runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks with a strikeout in 2 2/3 innings. Juan Pizarro gave up three runs in four innings of relief.
Hank Aaron went three for four with a walk and three RBIs. Joe Torre went three for six with two runs while Eddie Mathews belted his 26th homerun of the season.
