Pirates 2, Braves 1  (17-9)

The Braves were held to one run on just seven hits in their 2-1 loss to the Pirates.  Eddie Mathews hit a solo homerun for the only run of the game and even that didn’t come until the bottom of the ninth.

Juan Pizarro had a decent start go to waste.  He gave up two runs on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts in eight innings.
