Gino Cimoli homered off of reliever Red Murff in the bottom of the fourteenth inning as the Braves lost a long one to the Dodgers Lew Burdette threw what now an unheard of twelve innings and he gave up four runs on eleven hits and six walks with six strikeouts.
Eddie Mathews had a big day at the plate. He went four for six with two homeruns, two RBIs and three runs. Del Crandall was three for six in the loss.
