by @ 4:36 pm. Filed under Uncategorized

Last weekend, the Braves won game one in the series against Toronto 4-0 before dropping games two and three, 9-5 and 1-0.  Then the Braves travelled to Philadelphia this week, where the Phillies swept the three-game series with an 8-3, 7-3, and 4-1 game scores.  In the 4-1 loss, Jair Jurrjens picked up his first loss since May 12 as he gave up three solo homers.  This weekend the Braves took on the Houston Astros and opened the series after the five consecutive losses with a 6-2 win on Friday night.  In the victory, Tim Hudson recorded his ninth win of the season and the Braves saw right fielder Jason Perry get his an RBI triple in his first at-bat in the Major League. Last night, the Braves lost 6-1 to the Astros with the only run for the Braves coming in the 5th with a solo shot from Brian McCann.  Pitcher Jo-Jo Reyes had one of his shortest starts of the season going 4 1/3 innings after a previous seven-inning start and giving up four runs on six hits on the night.  Chipper Jones went 0-4 to drop to a .385 batting average.  In other news for the week, Chipper Jones and Brian McCann both are heading to Yankee Stadium in New York for the 79th All-Star game.  Chipper Jones will have the start at third base and McCann will be backup at catcher.  Today the Braves are taking on the Astros in the third game of the series with Charlie Morton getting the start after his previous game against the Phillies in which he had his first Major League struggling start as he gave up five earned runs on eight hits with two homers in two innings this past Tuesday.
