In the third game of the series on Wednesday, the Braves lost 7-2 with Jair Jurrjens going seven strong inning before Albert Pujols finally got to him with an RBI double in the Seventh to put the Cardinals ahead 3-2. Later in the Eighth and Ninth, Cardinals would add two runs in each inning as Atlanta’s two runs were driven in by Jeff Francoeur and Omar Infante. With three losses in a row, the Braves went into the Fourth game of the series trying to salvage the series by keeping from being swept. Mike Hampton received a no decision in his first home start since 2005 but the Braves won 9-4 with Clint Sammons getting his first career home run in the Sixth to break the night. Sammons had a three-hit, three-RBI night. Hampton went five innings on the mound allowing four runs and at the plate drove in two runs on a double and a single. The Braves next series is agains the Brewers who just came off a strong series sweeping the Chicago Cubs.
