Phillies 3, Braves 1 (54-39)
Phillies starter Jack Sanford held the Braves in check as the Phillies evened up their series with the Braves. Wes Convington had two of the Braves five hits and he drove in their only run with his ninth homerun of the season.
A pretty good start by Gene Conley went to waste. He dropped to 3-5 and he gave up two runs on seven hits and three walks with three strikeouts in eight solid frames.
