Braves Fail to Sweep Diamondbacks

by @ 4:04 pm. Filed under Uncategorized

On Sunday afternoon, the Braves failed to finish the series with a sweep of the Diamondbacks falling 6-1.  Cy Young candidate Brandon Webb went six innings against the Braves striking out five and one run on six hits.  Webb had a double at the plate driving in two runs in the Fourth in his 17th win of the season.  Atlanta’s Mike Hampton allowed six runs on five hits in four innings and is now 1 and 1.  The Braves lone run came on a sacrifice fly from Omar Infante in the Sixth. The Braves will now face the Chicago Cubs at home with Charlie Morton getting the start.  Skip Caray was honored today at Turner Field and tonight’s game will be extra special considering Skip’s father Harry Caray was announcer for the Cubs.
