The Braves eight game winning streak came to an after Bob Buhl, who had thrown seven scoreless innings to open up the game, gave up four runs in the eighth inning to the Cardinals. Buhl dropped to 18-7 and he gave up the four runs on eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts in nine frames.
The Braves picked up their lone run in the fifth inning on Johnny Logan’s sac. fly. Hank Aaron and Nippy Jones were the only Braves with more then one hit.
