Braves 4, Reds 3 (95-59)
The Braves finished their regular season with an exciting win over the Reds. Neither team scored until the seventh inning when Del Rice drew a bases loaded walk to push home the first run of the game. The Braves added a second run in the bottomo of the eighth on Harry Hinebrink’s RBI single.
Then in the ninth, Taylor Phillips and Don McMahon were tagged for three runs to give the Reds a 3-2 lead. The Braves answered though and Red Schoendienst singled home a run to tie the game and then Felix Mantilla singled home the game winning run to win it on a walk off hit.
McMahon picked up the win despite allowing three inherited runners to score in the ninth. Joe Adcock was the only Brave with two hits in the game.
