Braves 4, Phillies 3 (19-10)
Chuck Tanner hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the thirteenth inning to win this one for the Braves. Eddie Mathews provided most of the offense prior to that. He went two for five with his seventh homerun and seven RBIs.
Lew Burdette had a rough start and he gave up three runs on eight hits in five innings but the pen really picked him up. Ernie Johnson threw four shutout innings and then Bob Buhl and Juan Pizarro each threw two shutout innings to close the game out.
