Last night the Braves won 11-4 as Mike Hampton in just his third start after three years got his first victory of the season. Hampton pitched seven innings giving up two runs on four hits while striking two and walking only one. At the plate, Hampton drove in a run on an RBI double and had a little help in his trek to victory with Yunel Escobar, Omar Infante, Kelly Johnson, Casey Kotchman, Greg Norton, and Mark Kotsay each driving in at least one run with the Braves combining for 14 hits on the day. Today, the Braves lost 3-2 making it their 26th straight one-run loss on the road. Chuck James got the loss allowing three runs on five hits in four innings as the Braves bullpen would hold the Giants scoreless. Atlanta tacked a run on the board in each of the Fifth and Sixth, but the Giants held on for the win. Brian McCann went 3 for 4 on the day with Mark Kotsay and Yunel Escobar each driving in a run. The Braves dropped 2 of 3 to San Francisco and will now be travelling to Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks for a four game series.
