Brave Shutout 8-0 by Cubs in Second Game

by @ 4:18 pm. Filed under Uncategorized

The Braves combined for three hits on the game and were never able to pull things together in the 8-0 loss to the Cubs last night.  Starter Jorge Campillo allowed five runs on seven hits in five innings as he struggled against the bats of the Cubs who combined on the day for ten hits.  The Braves were just not productive against the Cubs getting outscored 18-2 in the doubleheader on the day.  Yunel Escobar had two of the three hits for the Braves.  Casey Kotchman went 0-8 in the doubleheader and has hit .188 since being traded by the Angels to the Braves for Mark Teixeira.  Tonight the Braves will look to their veteran Tom Glavine to shutdown the bats of the Cubs in Glavine’s first start since June 10.
