Braves 2, Dodgers 1 (38-29)
Bob Buhl threw a gem of a game as he ended up on the better of a 2-1 pitcher’s duel with Dodgers starter Don Drysdale. Buhl gave up one run on four hits and six walks with six strikeouts in the complete game. The win pushed his record to 9-2 on the season.
Hank Aaron had the big hit of the game. His two run triple in the eighth inning broke a score less tie and the Braves turned out to need both of those runs. Frank Torre was the only Braves hitter with two hits in the game.
