Braves 8, Dodgers 5 (30-21)
Bill Bruton had a huge day at the plate as the Braves took care of the Dodgers. He homered twice and drove in three runs while Carl Sawatski went three for four with a homerun, two doubles, four RBIs and two runs.
Bob Trowbridge improved to 2-0 although he hardly brought his best stuff. He gave up five runs on six hits and four walks with seven strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings. Ernie Johnson pitched the final 1 2/3 innings and didn’t give up a run to pick up his fourth save of the season.
